Carolina Hemlocks on the South Toe River is one of our favorite swimming holes with clean clear water coming off Mt Mitchell. The park service provides tube rentals at the park. For more extreme adventure, raft or kayak the Nolichucky River in northern Mitchell County. |
|
Picnic in the middle of the largest natural rhododendron garden in the world. Especially beautiful in mid-late June. Join the fun at the Rhododendron Festival in nearby Bakersville usually the 3rd weekend June. |
